In 2021 SPARK Finland continues with a new batch of cool projects and aims to support even stronger emergence of the new international success cases in health tech and life sciences.
In December 7th 2020 SPARK Finland International Evaluation Panel selected Batch 2021 of SPARK projects and teams. Panel of 45 acknowledged professionals (from 6 countries) in health tech and life science space represented expertise and experience in international business, R&D, technology development, clinical services, science and financing.
According to the panel level of applications was really high as well as the amount of high quality projects. That is why SPARK Finland selected 11 new projects to the program.
Reasons for high number of high quality projects is mainly based on the success of the alumni projects. And their positive reputation is justified. A large share of former and current Finnish SPARKees have raised remarkably large financing packages during the program. Right after the program large number of alumni startups have raised exceptionally large amounts of funding, with high valuations, from private investors. This means that financiers acknowledge the value of these cases.
One of the main reasons for SPARK applicants to join the program is the access to global SPARK networks. The networks are highly valued because the practical contacts and support that program can offer for SPARKees.
Peer support is also one of the key reasons to apply to SPARK. Learning from each other, getting support from peers and sharing experiences are some of the greatest advantages that community based program can offer.
Also the success of Finnish SPARKees in international project and startup competitions has become more and more acknowledged. The quality of the Finnish projects are perceived extremely high.
New batch starts their 2-3 year journey on today and we will announce the full list of new SPARKees very soon.
