New SPARKees, international evaluation panel, Batch Fall 2022, SPARK alumni, global networks

In August 2022 SPARK Finland continues with a new batch of cool projects. Based on our current model we have an open call twice a year.

In May 30th SPARK Finland International Evaluation Panel selected five projects and teams for Batch Fall 2022. Panel of 20 acknowledged professionals in health tech and life science space represented expertise and experience in international business, R&D, technology development, clinical services, science and financing.

Selected projects are:

JEDI – A smart optical sensor for arthroscopic surgery
3’ Vectors – new method for protein production
R2therapies – biomarker and drug target for Alzheimer’s
G-Dry – Graphene based dry electrodes
Image-Guided Surgery Without Instruments

Reasons for applying to SPARK are many.

One main reason is the success of the alumni projects. The positive reputation of alumni is justified. A large share of former and current Finnish SPARKees have raised remarkably large financing packages during the program and as alumni, from private investors, relevant amounts with high valuations. This means that financiers acknowledge the value of these cases.

The other reasons for SPARK applicants to join the program is the access to global SPARK networks. The networks are highly valued because the practical contacts and support that program can offer for SPARKees. Also the success of Finnish SPARKees in international project and startup competitions has become more and more acknowledged. The quality of the Finnish projects are perceived extremely high.

Peer support is the third key reasons to apply to SPARK. Learning from each other, getting support from peers and sharing experiences are some of the greatest advantages that community based program can offer.

New batch starts their 2-3 year journey in August and we will announce more about the new SPARKees very soon.

Stay tuned!
